The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has taken COVID-19 off their list of Notifiable Conditions that must be reported. Because of this change, neither parents nor staff need to notify the district of a positive COVID test result. However, if your child is sick and will not be attending school, you still need to let the school know about their absence.
To align with updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, DSHS has also released a new communicable disease chart for schools and childcare centers. This change means students who test positive for COVID-19, influenza, RSV, or other respiratory illnesses may now return to school when they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medicine. Students must also feel well enough to return to school. Please see the Eanes ISD website for more information on COVID protocols.
