Cardinal Weekly

January 12

 Dear Parents,

Happy New Year! I hope the winter break was filled with doing things you enjoy with those you love. It has been so much fun hearing all about the adventures your children had during their time away from school.

It is rewarding to announce we are having a record breaking number of students arriving to school on time. On behalf of the entire VVE team, we thank you for having your children on campus by 7:30 am and in class before school begins at 7:40 am. It is a teacher's dream to have all students present and prepared to learn when instruction begins. Being on time to school is a new year's resolution that we hope sticks!

A huge shout-out to Booster Club and event chairs, Allison Amador and Michelle Segura, for planning our next school-wide event. Next Friday, January 19, from 5:30-9:00 PM, is our annual family BINGO Night. We are still looking for a few volunteers to make this school-wide tradition a huge success. If interested, we would be grateful to have a little bit of your time on Friday for a VERY good cause.

The event kicks off with the opportunity to purchase a Chick-Fil-A dinner, followed by ticket sales and a concession stand filled with yummy treats. There are great prizes and an end of night jackpot too. We hope you will bring the entire family, play a little BINGO, mingle with neighbors and make a few new friends.

Lastly, please take a peek at the request for photos for the yearbook. The first deadline for all photos taken in the fall is due BEFORE January 22. Thank you to Yearbook Coordinator, Christina Marrs, for taking on this huge volunteer task for our school.

I'm looking forward to all the opportunities 2018 has to offer our school and community.

Photos Needed for Yearbook Pages ASAP!

Parents, please share any photos you capture from Valley View events this year with our fabulous Yearbook Coordinator, Christina Marrs.

All photos from events that occurred during the fall semester need to be submitted BEFORE January 22.  Please continue to submit VVE spring event photos through the end of March which will be Christina's final yearbook deadline.

The easiest way to share photos is by using the following link:

This link takes you to Christina's Dropbox folder where you will be prompted to upload photos from your device. You do not need a Dropbox account to share photos.

Christina can be reached at if you have any questions.

A huge THANK YOU is going out to Nurse Wilson, our three custodians, John Guerrero, John Stocks and Roberto Nava, as well as our parents who keep their "under the weather" cardinals at home.  It has been said that Texas is seeing an alarming number of Flu cases this year.  We are certainly seeing a steady line of children (and adults) needing tender, loving care. Thanks to Nurse Wilson's attentive and cautious nature, our custodians' thorough cleaning and attention to detail, and our parents' who are diligent in keeping truly sick cardinals home, we are working hard to keep our cases to a minimum. Keeping cardinal country healthy truly takes a team effort!

EISD Book Studies Coming Spring 2018

Our annual screening is scheduled for Wednesday, February 7th at Eanes Elementary.

Our students, teachers and staff are our stars, help the Eanes Education Foundation ensure they continue to SHINE as bright as possible. Join us for the 2018 EEF Gala on Saturday, February 24th at the JW Marriott Austin.

Social-Awareness and caring for others is the EISD SEL focus for the third nine weeks. Empathy is being able to understand and value someone else's perspective and having compassion for others even when they are different from ourselves.
