PRINCIPALLY SPEAKING VVE Parents,
It brings me great pride to share that during the one week Cardinal Fund participation rate challenge, our school participation rate increased by almost 18%. I find this remarkable when paired with the contributions of time and energy given to the School Carnival and Career Day in September and the generous gifts to outside organizations, hurricane relief and so much more. We are eternally grateful for every single contribution and give thanks for your support every single day. I had the pleasure of announcing to all students and staff during last week's assembly that fourth grade won the challenge. As a result, all fourth grade students are invited to wear their pajamas to school this Friday, October 13. During the day the fourth grade teachers will allow all students to have their shoes off in the classrooms and at 2:45 I will announce an early dismissal for all fourth grade students. As fourth graders lounge comfortably in their pajamas, with their shoes off in class and arrive first on buses and in the car line, I imagine they will be extremely grateful to all their parents too! For all other grade levels, I was able to enthusiastically brag about the impressive increase in participation rates. I also shared that every grade level has the opportunity to earn another surprise this school year. Each grade level reaching 100% parent participation any time this school year will also be granted a sweet surprise. The surprise will be a treat that is free and fun for every child in the grade. This is just our way of staying the course toward 100% participation and allowing our children to benefit in another simple and fun way. Again, thank you for giving, doing and making Valley View so unique and special. We know that YOU are the secret ingredient to our success. Warmly, Jennifer Dusek Proud Valley View Principal
WE NEED YOU! GRATITUDE A BIG THANKS goes out to Valley View's fabulous librarian, Patti Iles, for scheduling spectacular author visits like Dan Santat's visit last week. A parent was quoted saying, "He's the BEST little people author we've ever had; so entertaining, informative and inspirational"! Mrs. Iles gives credit to Book People for funding the impressive author visits, our large volume of book orders here at VVE, and our well-behaved student population. Thank you again Ms. Iles for continuing to host trendy and entertaining authors for our Cardinals! DID YOU KNOW... IT'S A WRAP! Our fall photo day was a total success! We will have retakes on November 8th for students that were absent. Please be on the lookout for a proof link coming to your email in 2-3 weeks. This email link is your way to proof and order pictures. Once ordered, they will be mailed to your home address. This should simplify the process for all.
